Which tool should you pick?
Zapier — fastest path to popular apps
Best for: quick zaps to Slack, Gmail, Airtable, and Google Sheets. Zapier lists 5,000+ app integrations.
Setup: Zapier → Webhooks by Zapier → Catch Hook → copy the URL → paste it as a Vendschat webhook destination → send a test message from Chat.
Make — visual scenarios with branching
Best for: one inbound message that fans out to several steps, or EU webhook URLs (hook.eu1.make.com). Drag-and-drop scenarios, data stores, and filters live here.
Setup: Make → new scenario → Webhooks → Custom webhook → copy the URL → add it in Vendschat → run the scenario once so Make can learn the payload.
n8n — full control, two ways to run it
n8n is the low-code option when you want more nodes, self-hosting, or a dedicated instance.
- External / self-hosted (Growth+): Use n8n Cloud or your own host. Add a Webhook node, copy the production URL, paste it into Vendschat Webhooks.
- Hosted on Vendschat (Advanced): Sidebar → n8n → Generate Free Instance. Pick a name, region (US East, Europe / Frankfurt, or Asia / Singapore), and admin email.

How to connect (all three)
- Open Zapier, Make, or n8n and create a webhook trigger
- Copy the webhook URL
- In Vendschat, go to Settings → Workspace → Webhooks → Add destination
- Name it (e.g. “Make inbound”), paste the URL, and pick events
- Send a real test message in Chat so the other side can map fields
- Turn the zap / scenario / workflow ON
Starter plans do not include webhooks. Upgrade to Growth before you connect Zapier, Make, or n8n.
Events worth starting with
- incoming.whatsapp.messages.text — new WhatsApp text
- incoming.vendschat.messages — any inbound message across channels
- outgoing.whatsapp.status.delivered — delivery receipts
Start with one event. You can add more destinations later.
Example workflows
Order status (e-commerce): Incoming WhatsApp → n8n looks up Shopify by phone → if shipped, send a template reply; if not, label the thread Warehouse.
VIP routing (agency): Incoming message → Make filters by workspace or channel → posts to Slack #account-{client}.
Lead scoring (SaaS): Incoming Messenger → hosted n8n scores the lead in HubSpot → logs the result.
